Meet your Instructor
Marlin is a retired United States Marine and Afghanistan veteran, bringing extensive experience in marksmanship, combat martial arts, range safety, and instructor‑level training. During his deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), he was assigned to a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) team, providing rapid-response capability in high‑risk, time‑sensitive environments.
Throughout his career, he qualified on the rifle range with a wide array of weapons systems, including the M67 hand grenade, M240G, M249 SAW, 9mm Beretta, 9mm M18, .50‑caliber machine gun, and AT4 rocket launcher. He also served as a Range Safety Officer and completed training in the CH‑53E aerial observer (gunner) pipeline, operating in high‑risk, precision‑driven environments.
He also completed a six‑month internship with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) as a Criminal Intelligence Analyst, enhancing his expertise in threat analysis, investigative support, and intelligence-driven decision-making.
With nearly a decade of combat defense instruction, Marlin is a Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor, MCJROTC high school instructor, certified basic archery instructor, and certified firearms instructor.
